Traditional martial arts teaching methods are geared toward competition in form of “free sparring” or tag-like game between two opponents. Whether it is a point system or the “Full Contact Sport” with rules and regulations, free sparring can cause stress and abnormal reactions to our natural reflexes. Often sports competition with rules and regulations creates a false sense of confidence in a realistic situation. Many systems of Martial Arts are only beneficial in some aspects. For throws, sweeps, falls and takedowns, Judo or Jujitsu is effective. For kicks and strikes Karate or TaeKwon-Do is effective.
